Japan’s New era Reiwa

On 1st, Apr 2019, Japan unveiled the name of the nation’s new era as “Reiwa”. It contains the expectation of anesthetic and peaceful era. Era name is a long historical tradition from China. However, China doesn’t use it anymore. Japan adopted this ear name system during the reign of Emperor Kotoku. Reiwa is the first era name which is not cited from Chinese classic literature but Japan’s own classic literature Man’yoshu.

CEATEC 2018

CEATEC was held from October 16th to 19th this year. AI, IoT, and 5G are the main topics for the exhibition. We can find electronic components and solution suppliers like muRata, ROHM, and TDK. ICT solution players like NTT, Fujitsu and NEC. But we can also find some unusual exhibitors this time, like NEXCO, JTB, and Lawson.

Another 3-year for Mr. Abe

As Shinzo Abe won the election as Liberal Democratic leader, he is on course to win the next 3-year Prime Minister position. After 14 months, he will become Japan’s longest-serving PM in the history. In recent year, the Japanese government shows rare stability and continuity. Shinzo Abe resigned Prime Minister in 2007 unexpectedly, because of his health issues. After that, almost every year Japan had a new Prime Minister until he took the position again in 2012.
